Kochi: In Kerala, seven people have been killed in elephant attacks this year; six of them were mahouts. The families of these mahouts are facing very grave crises and people, who are shedding tears for the elephants never think of the plight of these families. A typical example is that of the family of mahout Kannan, who was killed by a jumbo named Ookkens Kunchu. In the last three months, 12 elephants, including Thiruvambadi Sivasundar, have died.
